ONSEN Camps
Have you ever asked yourself why hot springs are so important for Japanese people, even considered sacred ?
It is in response to this key question that together we will discover a wealth of information and can develop new energy and ecological concepts.
By undertaking ethological studies (studies of behaviour) of animals living around Japanese thermal baths we can understand what impact these sources may have on animal communities.
By carrying out anthropozoologic studies on the interaction between Japanese animals and the inhabitants of the regions around them we understand the situation better.
Armed with the results of the previous studies, and now carrying out ethnological and archaeological studies, we will understand precisely where the respect that men have for these hot water sources comes from. Maybe ancient tribes survived more easily during the winter thanks to the heat their onsens provided ? Perhaps they washed themselves more often than people in other areas of the planet and so fell ill less often ? All the well-being that they received from the onsens, today we return it …
Rather than looking only at social sciences, in this research program we will also conduct diverse analyses more or less focused in the fields of geological and geothermal energy, and equally in biology and ecology.
For example describing a model rich in details of the observed ecosystem.
For example, by proposing new solutions for renewable energies that respects the environment during their installation and usage.
For example we could better protect these fragile ecosystems.
For example, equally, by developing a portable model of a miniaturised ecosystem which could allow the teams of explorers to be self-sufficient in space, in the space station, interplanetary spaceship, or in a base on Mars or the moon. There are several scientific contests on this subject and maybe you will have the chance to win the prize, or simply, already !, publish a high quality article in a peer-reviewed, scientific journal, to disseminate the model you have developed ?
…what better for your CV ?!
